Tuesday Men’s League - 2008
Ralph Nightingale
and Bob Desrosiers will again run the Tuesday Night Men’s League, which is set to begin play on April 29 this year (if
conditions allow). The format will be the same as that for last year, that is,
two-man teams playing 2-ball, best ball match play using club handicaps. There
will be an Early League (tee off at 4:00 pm) and Late League (tee off at 4:45
pm). We’ll schedule three separate 6-week “thirds”,
with playoffs beginning after Labor Day. Fees are the same as last year at $60
per man, which includes an entry fee of $24, plus $2 per man per week for skins.
Last years’ champions
were Tony Martin and John Enright (with sub help from Dave Apple) who defeated Jim Larrow & Dan Sheran. The other semi-finalists were the teams of Bill & Jamie Denault and Frank Anello & Ken Griffin.
Please note that we may
be forced to limit the number of teams in the league given the constraints of course capacity and daylight. We had forty-four (44) teams play last year, which is full capacity.
We can’t assume that last year’s Tuesday League players will automatically want to play this year as well. So please contact Bob Desrosiers (442 5490) to sign up your team if you wish to play
in the Tuesday League for the 2008 season.

Thursday
Night Men’s League - 2008
Jim Schneider is taking a leave of absence from the club this
year so Paul Lapierre, Don Robarge, Joe Petretta and Dave Kelley will team up to run this years Thursday Night Men’s
League. As long as the weather cooperates, we plan on beginning play on May 1st. The
format will be two-man teams playing 2-ball, best ball match play using 80% of your club handicap. There will be an Early League (tee off at 4:00 pm) and Late League (tee off at 4:45 pm). We will play two 9 week halves, with playoffs beginning after Labor Day.
Fees are $60 per man, which includes your entry fee and weekly skins (gross and net).
Please do not
assume that just because you played last year you are signed up for this year. We
need you to contact us and sign up. If you don’t have a partner and you
are interested in playing, let us know. We can usually find someone to partner
up with you.

Fillies Wednesday Day League - 2008
A sign-up sheet will be available
for ladies interested in joining the Fillies Wednesday Day league at the Ladies Association dinner to be held Tuesday April
29th. Both high and low handicappers are welcome to join.
More than 30 ladies participated
in the league last year and we’re looking forward to another great year. The
format will be point quota with a “scramble” once a month. Players
are required to make a certain amount of “points” depending on their handicap.
League will start the first
Wednesday in May, weather permitting. Because it is a point system there are no divisions and all the ladies play together. The ladies sign up each week and tee-times will be posted (and sent by e-mail) by
Tuesday evening.
When there are no other tournaments
scheduled we play 18 holes; otherwise, we play only nine holes if there is a shotgun tournament at 12:30 pm or in case of
rain.
Dues are $25.00 a year and
include prizes at the end of the season and a luncheon. Dues should be paid by
the end of the first month of league play. In order to be eligible for prizes,
you must be a paid-up member.

Wednesday Night Ladies League -2008
If you are interested in
playing or being a sub in the ladies Wednesday Night Ladies league or would like more information regarding the league, please
contact Patty Peltier (684-4755) or ppelt9590@gmail.com. The league will be starting on Wednesday April 30th (weather
permitting) and ending August 2/th. If you have a partner, that is
helpful. However, if you don’t have a partner, we will try to get one for
you. League fees are $25 with an optional skins pool.
Dilly Boys (Tuesday/Thursday) 2008
We are planning another great weather season for the Dilly Boys, and would like to expand our membership as well.
The Dilly Boys will have tee times
starting at 9:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 6 to September 25. We run two Dilly Boy Fun Tournaments (mid-year and
year-end) plus a Fillies-Dillies Scramble in mid-August.
For those considering joining
us, note that we do not have pre-set teams, but assign teams daily based on those present. There is no substitutes required,
no need to call in if you can’t make it, just come when you can and enjoy a day of golf with a great bunch of guys.
Even if you can only play nine holes on a given day, we can accommodate that as well.
The competition gets quite tense
as we play a two-ball best-ball (full handicap) format with each member of the winning team getting a new golf ball (and no
side betting).
The fees for the league are $40
per year with a $10 initiation fee for new members. These dues provide the funding for the balls distributed during the season,
meals after the two tournaments and year-end prizes.
If you are considering joining
the league, but are not sure, we invite you to join us any Tuesday or Thursday during May without requiring a commitment. This will allow you to get a “feel” for the group and the format and better
make the decision to join us for the season.
